Thompson Winterfest (Thompson)

Thompson's Winterfest is an annual event celebrating the North, this year taking place over the March 6-8 weekend.  There are many fun family & individual events for everyone to enjoy including the kick-off at the Thompson Regional Community Centre with entertainment, fireworks, hot chocolate and bonfire.  Admission is FREE!

HOMETOWN HOCKEY comes to THOMPSON! (Thompson)

Join us in Thompson (the only northern location selected for this exciting opportunity!) for a hockey festival this March! Ron MacLean (Canadian sportscaster for the CBC, best known for hosting Hockey Night in Canada) will host a half-hour pre-game show live from the Sportsnet Mobile Studio in Thompson leading into the live telecast of the NHL game in Calgary between the Ottawa Senators and Flames. Other Sportsnet personalities, will also make appearances during the intermission and post-game show.  Thompson's Winterfest will be combined with this event as well so look forward to fireworks, bonfire, Wall of Fame Game and Don Cherry blazer contest!

Each week during the 2014/15 NHL season, the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour will roll into a different community across the country with a weekend of free outdoor hockey festivities for all ages, culminating in an outdoor viewing party of an NHL game broadcast every Sunday.

Thompson Trailbreakers Presidents Ride (Thompson)

Have you ever watched a gymnastics event live?  The Thompson Tumblers will be hosting an invitational gymnastics meet here in Thompson. Hudson Bay Quest Dog Sled Race (Gillam)

The Hudson Bay Quest is a wilderness race.  It is a competition between the musher, dog team, weather, terrain and other competitors. 
You have the possibility of encountering severe weather conditions.  Past races have had temperatures of +2 - 5C with rain to -30C with 40 km winds equalling -45C.  Trail terrain willr ange from lakes, rivers, tundra and snow roads.  Possible snow storms or ground blizzards may stop your progession for up to 36 hours. 
The Hudson Bay Quest is a race like no other! This year's race will be held on Friday, March 13th, 2015, starting in Gillam, MB and finishing in Churchill, MB.

Aurora Winterfest (Churchill)

The Aurora Winterfest brings residents and visitors together to celebrate the culture history and heritage of the northern region of Manitoba.  This annual event features local artists showcasing fiddling, square-dancing, singing and jigging.  It also features Aboriginal drumming, snow sculptures, igloo building, dog mushing and other traditional winter activities.  Other events include snowmobile drag racing, the finish line for the Hudson Bay Quest Dog Sled race, BBQ Brunch and lots of entertainment!

Skate Thompson's Ice Show (Thompson)

Skate Thompson will be having their annual figure skating ice show in the CA Nesbitt Arena. If you and family enjoy watching figure skating, this is an event for the whole family to enjoy.  A small admission fee will be charged at the door.
