Northern Manitoba's premiere Pride event takes place in Thompson annually in June.  Events may vary from year to year: Dance Party, Drag Show, GLOW Youth Dance Party, Mini Festival, live music, sweat lodge, LGBT awareness workshops and more!

Thompson Nickel Days (Thompson)

Nickel Days are held annually in June in Thompson and include a midway, the National King Miner Contest, a parade, family stage shows, talent contests, softball tournament and many other special events.  This year the Saturday evening social will feature THE SHEEPDOGS, other great openers, 50/50 raffle and happy hour prices.  

Lil' Nick's Dance Party is a new addition this year, after Saturday's parade head down to the CA Nesbitt Arena to boogie with our Nickel Days mascot and his friends!  Light Show, glow bracelets, bouncy house, prizes, dance-offs and more!

Thompson National Aboriginal Day Events (Thompson)

Celebrating a day of culture, tradition and community, this all-day event begins with a sunrise ceremony at daybreak.  A tipi, tents and platform are set up at the celebration site, all of which takes place outdoors.  The celebration begins at 1:00 pm with community bbq, Grand Entry and greetings from the original signatories of the Thompson Aboriginal Accord.
Afternoon celebrations will proceed with a pow-wow demonstration followed by live performances from Aboriginal bands.
The evening includes more entertainment, including jigging demonstration & competition, followed by square dancing demonstration and further performances by Aboriginal Artists.  National Aboriginal Day will conclude with closing remarks, a community round dance and retiring of the Eagle Staff and flags.  All events are free to attend and open to all.

Flin Flon National Aboriginal Day Celebration (Flin Flon)

Come by the Flin Flon Aboriginal Friendship Centre at noon for a BBQ to celebrate National Aborignal Day and enjoy some local entertainment (dancers, musicians, etc).

Flin Flon Trout Festival (Flin Flon)

Get hooked on this annual festival running June 30-July 3 in 2016. The Canada Day long weekend starts off with a bang late Thursday night as fireworks light up the sky at Ross Lake at midnight. Friday begins with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Rotary Club at the Flin Flon Station Museum, followed by a parade at 11 a.m., plus Canada Day celebrations, family activities and more fireworks at Denare Beach. Take in Main Street Days, fair rides, food booths and a fabulous fish fry on Saturday, and wrap up the weekend with a full slate of fun for the whole family at Beaver Lake Day.
